Natural Ways to Deal with Stress

It seems like you hear it all the time from nearly every one you know – “I’m SO stressed out!” Pressures abound in this world today. And those pressures will cause stress and anxiety.

Women suffer from anxiety and stress almost twice as much as men. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in America, surpassing even depression in numbers.

In fact, stress is more dangerous than we thought. You've probably heard that it can raise your blood pressure, increasing the likelihood of a stroke in the distant future, but recently a health insurance brochure claimed that 90 percent of visits to a primary care physician were stress-related disorders.

Health Psychology magazine reports that chronic stress can interfere with the normal function of the body's immune system. And studies have proven that stressed individuals have an increased vulnerability to catching an illness and are more susceptible to allergic, autoimmune, or cardiovascular diseases.

Doctors agree that during chronic stress, the functions of the body that are nonessential to survival, such as the digestive and immune systems, shut down. "This is why people get sick," he says. "There are also many occurrences of psychosomatic illness, an illness with an emotional or psychological side to it."

Furthermore, stress often prompts people to respond in unhealthy ways such as smoking, drinking alcohol, eating poorly, or becoming physically inactive. This damages the body in addition to the wear and tear of the stress itself.

Stress is a part of daily life. It’s how we react to it that makes all the difference in maintaining our health and well-being. Pressures occur throughout life and those pressures cause stress. You need to realize that you will never completely get rid of stress in your life, but you can learn coping techniques to turn that stress into a healthier situation.

Let’s Look at What are Natural Ways to Deal with Stress!

Why Would You Use Therapeutic Essential Oils?

When I first experienced therapeutic essential oils few years ago, I had this
feeling that this was just right for me.

Before, I was somewhat "unexperienced" --- use essential oils only to make my room fragrance.

I never learned much else to do with these essential oils, and I was warned not to put it on my body without diluting it. I intend not to put it on my body neither to swallow it.

It wasn't until I learned about therapeutic essential oils when I was reading a book called "Aromatherapy an A-Z" By Patricia Davis. From that I was able to have a true appreciation for what essential oils can do for me.

Learning that there are many different kind of essential oils, makes me aware when buying essential oils. When I started to use therapeutic essential oils I had very positive experiences right away. I just felt better.

Tips to make essential oils last longer

If essential oils are store in a correct manner they should last up to 2 years. What can you do to make your essential oils last longer? Here are a few tips:

Proper storage will make essential oils last longer. A dark brown or black type of glass bottle which should be tight enough to keep air out will help it last longer, as well as being kept in a place with very low light, and not a lot of heat. Find more tips on storing essential oils.

Top note essential oils generally evaporate usually within 1-2 hours. Middle notes for 2-4 hours and base notes tend to last longest, some for up to a few days. My suggestion is when blending the essential oils blend only a small amount or as you needed. This way you want waste your pure essential oils. Which oils is the base note? Find your answer here

Essential oils should not be kept for more than one year. If you do not use them quickly, you risk having the oils change fragrance and possibly turning rancid. Keeping essential oils in the refrigerator. This helps to slow down the chances of the oils turning rancid.

Essential oils Labor & Pregnancy

I remember being particularly fond of lavender oil during my first pregnancy, and whenever I smell lavender oil it instantly reminds me of that time. Lavender is a must during pregnancy, as it has the longest list of therapeutic properties, it also the safest oil on the skin. It has the ability to stimulate the production of healthy white blood cells, and to goad them into action, should an invading organism such as cold virus, decide to visit. I would recommend a lavender bath at least once a week during pregnancy.

Beside Lavender, there are mandarin, neroli and also geranium that are good for pregnancy. Jasmine and Clary sage are good for labor.

It is not advised to use essential oils labor & pregnancy on yourself on the first trimester of your pregnancy. Carrier oil such as jojoba or sweet almond oil can help stop the stretch marks. After month three you can add 4 drops of mandarin oil to 20 ml of jojoba oil. Massage half a teaspoonful daily.

It is recommended that you avoid jasmine and clary sage for the whole term of pregnancy so you can use it until labor when they can be used.
